Animal Sponsorship: Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth

Two-toed sloths live in rainforests in Central and South America. They spend most of their time upside-down in trees, but are also great swimmers! Sloths move slowly partially because of the low calorie and high fiber content of the leaves, stems, and buds that make up the majority of their diet. They have a large, four-chambered stomach to help them digest all that plant matter.

Habitat destruction is the greatest threat to sloth populations. Your animal sponsorship helps the Minnesota Zoo Foundation support the Minnesota Zoo’s efforts to make a difference for wildlife here and around the world.
